Land o' Lakes, WI
Sound System Installation

Situated on 1,200 acres on the border between Upper Michigan and Wisconsin, Conserve School is a unique facility. The school recruits high school students nationwide to the campus where the education focuses on the environment, ethics, and innovation. The campus has its own network and a number of the classrooms have multimedia presentation capability. The theater is on the first floor of the Lowenstine Academic Building. The main floor provides 338 seats and the balcony furnishes an additional 160 seats.

Sound
The sound system consists of a 24-channel Mackie mixing console that can be utilized in either the sound/lighting booth or on the main floor via a multi-pin snake connection. In addition, a monitor mix is available on stage with a second 24-channel Mackie mixing console.

Community CSX38S2 Monitor SpeakersFour Renkus-Heinz TRC121/12 speakers provide the left-right sound system for the auditorium as well as balcony coverage. Maximum sound pressure level is 123db/1m from each speaker. Two Renkus-Heinz BPS12-1 subwoofers provide the low frequency reproduction down to 35Hz. Four Community CSX38S2 monitor speakers are also part of the system.

The choices for wired handheld microphones are eight Shure Beta57 and eight Shure Beta58, as well as three Shure MX391 boundary microphones for stage apron pickups. Each handheld microphone has its own floor stand and a choice of 25’ or 50’ cables. Eight booms are also available to attach to the microphone stands.

Wireless Microphone SystemsEight Shure LX series wireless microphones are available with both lavalier and handheld microphones. Four wireless systems are in two separate cases, allowing the systems to easily be transported from the mixer location to any microphone jack location in the auditorium or the gathering space.

Microphone jack plates are accessible on stage left and stage right as well as on the front stage apron. In addition, two 50’ stage drop boxes are provided, one with eight inputs and one with 16 inputs. The plates and boxes can be routed to either the main or the monitor mixer locations through the three patch bays. The Marantz CD/tape player and the wireless microphones can also be patched to any location via the patch bays. All the processors, System Rackamplifiers, and patch bays are conveniently mounted in one rack in the control booth. This rack also holds the gathering space sound system.

There is also a two-channel stage intercom system, consisting of eight wall jacks and five speaker stations. There are speaker stations in each dressing room. Belt packs and headsets are provided for use with the system. One channel is reserved for the audio and one is reserved for lighting.

The control booth also has its own monitor speakers to listen to the performances. Two Mackie HR824 powered speakers are available to connect to the mixer in the booth or on the floor location. The sound system also has a hearing assistance system available for hearing impaired students and visitors and to comply with ADA requirements.

The theater has two interlocking stage risers (4’ X 8’ X 18”) that may be utilized. Some seats can be removed if needed to place equipment on the main floor of the auditorium.

Multimedia
The theater has a large video projector mounted on the front of the balcony and a large screen center stage. The projector can play video from a VHS/DVD player or an on-stage computer. The computer is located in a mobile stage podium. This system is controlled by a Crestron keypad and has internet access via a floor pocket.
